Job Seekers

The Jobs Ministry was started to help all those seeking employment. There are 3 parts to our support for those in transition: Community, Learning, and Networking

Community

Friday mornings at 9:30 a.m. (after the 8:30 a.m. Liturgy) Lighthouse. Those in transition gather to help one another by sharing job leads and contacts, conducting resume reviews, practicing elevator speeches, providing job search resources, and reviewing weekly progress.

Evening Meetings take place on the last Thursday of the month and feature a motivational and/or educational speaker.

Learning

Various courses are presented during the year including: Job Placement Training, and Six Sigma Green Belt Training

Networking

Job leads are shared through our e-mail network (jobs@grizwiz.com). Those who sign up receive daily/weekly e-mails with job postings that have been contributed by others in transition and networking volunteers.

St. Thomas has a roster of individuals who have volunteered to act as contacts with those in transition and can aid them in starting their networking. Our volunteers are from a wide range of industries and disciplines and can be a vital springboard into this vital  aspect of the job search.
